Who it's for
Knowledge workers who have recently gained access to Claude Tag in their channels. If you are responsible for setting Claude Tag up for others in your organization, start with the admin setup guide(opens in new tab).
Before you start
- Claude Tag is installed in your team's workspace, so it can join channels there.
- You have access to Claude Tag in one or more channels. Some organizations limit it to certain roles(opens in new tab), so if tagging it returns an access message, ask your admin.
- Helpful, not required: you have used Claude in a chat.
How to approach this course
Claude Tag lives in your channels and threads, and you talk to it the way you talk to your team. In a channel it works as itself, with the tools the channel was given and a memory the team builds together. From there, this course shows you how to hand off work effectively and make Claude more useful for your team. A few habits hold throughout:
Work with it as you would a colleague. Ask it where you would ask a person. Give it real jobs to finish, the kind you would otherwise do yourself or hand to a teammate, and correct it as it works. It can already read the channels it is in, so it starts from your team's context.
Work where the team works. Keep the work in the channel it belongs to, so colleagues can see it, steer it, and pick it up, and so what Claude learns there helps everyone in the channel.
Start with one channel and one real task. Pick a public channel that has your team's tools connected, and hand Claude one real task there.
Extend trust a step at a time. Give Claude and yourself ways to check the work. As it proves out on one kind of task, let it reply on its own, run routines, and own an ongoing responsibility.
